2009 Week 9 NFL Preview

The full predictions each week are at http://sites.google.com/site/computerratings/nfl-football/nfl-predictions but below is a discussion of some of the interesting games.  These games all picked by the current computer ratings located here.

Denver hosts Pittsburgh, and despite their loss last week and fall to #4 in the rankings, the computer still picks them over Pittsburgh picking the upset.  It is interesting the lack of respect Denver is getting this year even though they are 6-1 against the spread and Pittsburgh is only 2-5.

Cincinnati hosts Baltimore and again the computer is picking the upset, Cincinnati by 0.8.  Baltimore is the better team, but Cincinnati is close enough that home field should be the difference.

The computer doesn't always picks upsets, or always underdogs against the spread, as Indy is picked by 9.4 host Houston.  But that isn't the biggest pick the computer has as it likes Atlanta by 19.1 over Washington.

After several good weeks, the computer stunk it up last week but is still 73-45-2 for the year.  If you are interested in additional details on picks against the spread, best picks, and locks, see this where you can subscribe to a weekly newsletter.

Enjoy the games.
