Example Flight Preview Estimated Dynamic Dynamic Rating Report

Below is an example of a flight preview report.  These reports show the average Estimated Dynamic rating for a roster, both the complete roster and the top-8 rated players, and give a pretty good idea of who the strongest teams are in a flight.

If you are interested in a report, contact me for details.  Note that these are the least expensive report as they are just summary information and easier to generate.

Important: These reports show an average rating for a team, and a lot goes into determining who wins a team match beyond that, e.g. who actually plays in a given match, any stacking that may take place, specific match-ups, new self-rated players, and players getting better or worse from the rating I've calculated over the course of the season, so this by no means should be construed as a guarantee of which teams will go to playoffs.  But it is fun to look at and speculate, so I created the report!

The below was done for the Seattle area 18 & over 3.5 men sub-flight A for 2015 at the start of the season, but take a look at all of the preview blog posts for more examples.

Here is the overall average for each team:

And here is the top-8 average for each team:

And here is a summary that shows how each team arranged their players by court by showing the weighted average rating played over all the average rating by court.  This is a great too to use in playoffs as a way to scout opponents and determine if they stack or play straight up.

Since this is for last year, we know the results and yes, Harbor Square did win their flight.  In fact, they won the local playoff, went on to Sectionals, won that, and went to Nationals.  So sometimes, these pre-season flight reports can be accurate in predicting who will do well and advance.
