Week One of 2022 USTA League Nationals Recap

Week one of this year's USTA League Nationals is complete and we have three champions.

The 2.5 women saw Missouri Valley win their final 2-1 over Caribbean, both teams winning their semis 2-1 over Eastern and Mid-Atlantic.  MO Valley was my simulation's second pick, so not too bad.

The 3.5 men saw a loaded Intermountain team finish their domination of the weekend with a 5-0 win over Southern, Intermountain having beaten Middle States 5-0 and Southern beating SoCal 4-1.  Intermountain went 29-1 on courts over the weekend losing only a single set and no more than 3 games in any other set in the semi, and did have two matches go to tie-breaks in the final, but the other three were won easily.  They were my simulation's pick to win it and they did.

Then the 3.5 women had Caribbean win it all with a 3-2 victory over SoCal in the final, after PNW and Texas were dispatched in the semis.  SoCal was my second pick in the simulation and they got second, and Caribbean was listed as a team that would vie for a spot in the semis so not too bad.

Congratulations to all the champs, an all that participated this weekend for making it there.
