NFL Gets Underway and Clemson vs Georgia Tech

The NFL season gets started tonight with the now "traditional" Thursday night opener with Tennessee visiting Pittsburgh.  These were two of the best teams all last year with Tennessee even being #1 in my rankings for 7 weeks in the middle of last season before fading a bit and finishing #4.

My computer picks Pittsburgh by 4.9 so the narrow pick against the +6 or +6.5 spread would be Tennessee.  But that is based on last years teams so it will be interesting to see how the game and early weeks play out.

There is also what appears to be a competitive game and an opportunity for the ACC to make a statement as Clemson goes to Georgia Tech.  Being at Georgia Tech the computer picks Clemson, but just by 0.4 points so could be a very good game.  Note that the computer would have picked Georgia Tech to win based solely on last year, but they dropped in the ratings a bit after playing a weak Jacksonville State last week.  In any case, the pick here, with all the early season caveats still applying, is Clemson and the 5-6.5 points.

See all of the current NFL picks and college picks for all of the predictions.

Enjoy the games!
